Double Dhamaal is an upcoming Indian movie. This film stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tabu, Sanjay Dutt and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. Double Dhamaal is produced by Drishyam Films & Arun Pandey Productions and directed by Rahul Dholakia. The movie is scheduled to release on 6th April 2019. It's production budget of the film has been estimated at 19-20 Crores (Indian Rupees). Double Dhamaal is a remake of 2014 Korean film 'The Thieves', which is itself a remake of 2004 Korean film 'Majeur' (마오리). The music for the film has been composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy whereas lyrics penned by Rafeeq Ahmed, Rachna Banerjee, Kausar Munir, Neeraj Shridhar and Siddharth Arora.The movie was released on 6 April 2019 in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. The movie collected ₹2.18 crore (₹27 million) on its opening day and ₹3.81 crore (₹47 million) in its opening weekend at the Indian box office. The film collected ₹14.45 crore (₹155 million) lifetime in India and grossed $1,071,541 overseas. The music of "Double Dhamaal" was released on 4 April 2019 by T-Series at a launch event in Mumbai and Delhi, to which Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi were present along with the main cast members of the film, Taapsee Pannu, Tabu & Sanjay Dutt. The song "Ji" was recorded in a studio with Taapsee Pannu and Sanjay Dutt, while the song "Zara Zara" was recorded at a studio in Mumbai. The song "I Don't Know" was shot at a reality show set in Goa. In an interview, director Rahul Dholakia said that he had considered using actors from reality shows to play the lead roles but eventually decided against this idea citing that people would find it funny. On 2 April 2019, a video of a scene where Ajay Devgn and Arshad Warsi get into a fight over Taapsee Pannu's character appeared on social media. Director Rahul Dholakia defended the scene on Twitter, stating that "The fight scene between Ajay and Arshad was originally written to be a 10 minute sequence. The original script was written before any of these events took place."The movie was released on 6 April 2019 in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. As of 31 July 2019, the film had grossed ₹14.45 crore (₹155 million) at the domestic box office.
